Myofunctional Therapy

Too many people are living with orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) and either don’t even realize it, or aren’t receiving adequate care they are looking for and deserve.

OMDs occur when the lips, jaws, or tongue interfere with facial development, caused by a variety of factors, including upper airway obstruction, poor oral habits (like nail biting), and more.

Your successful recovery comes when your needs are heard and your goals are met. With the guidance and support of a myofunctional therapist, these issues can be faced head-on with a personalized treatment plan in place.

Personalized care is at the heart of myofunctional therapy.

It is a kind of therapeutic approach that will help you retrain orofacial muscle function in ways that work best for your recovery needs and personal goals. This is achieved through individualized daily exercises that can be both practiced together and in your own time.

Through myofunctional therapy, we will work together to reduce the symptoms of OMD and TMD through the improvement of speech, resting oral posture, and airway flow — all while building healthy oral habits and helping you become more aware of how your orofacial muscles work.

Do you have an orofacial myofunctional disorder, or experience TMJ-related issues?
