As clinicians, treating temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) can feel overwhelming at times.
The symptoms— jaw pain, headaches, limited jaw mobility — just keep coming back, and you can’t seem to get to the root cause. It’s exhausting, and frustrating, not only for you but also for your patients who are stuck with this 24/7.
Are you intimidated by the complexities of this joint?
Do you feel like you don’t even know where to start?
Do you break out in a cold sweat when you see a TMJD case in your schedule?
OK, so I might be exaggerating here a bit but you know what I mean.
6 Reasons the Tackling TMJD Mentorship Program is Unique.
Comprehensive Curriculum
This program goes beyond basic intraoral massage or myofascial release techniques.
Tackling TMJD offers a comprehensive approach to assessment, treatment planning, and patient education, combining evidence-based practices from myofunctional therapy, manual therapy, dental care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Ongoing Mentorship & Support
I’ve found that the best learning happens in an active community, where ideas are exchanged, questions can be asked, and you can learn from your peers.
That’s why I’ve kept Tackling TMJD to a small cohort size, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage and receive personalized mentorship and support throughout the program.
Evidence-based Approach
Given the constantly evolving nature of TMJD, my goal is to provide the most reliable and up-to-date information throughout the program.
Each module is grounded in current research, helping you develop a strong foundation in assessment and treatment, so you can effectively apply your knowledge in practice.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
The best outcomes for my patients come when I collaborate with other clinicians.
Tackling TMJD promotes multidisciplinary collaboration, helping you identify local professionals to work with and how to start those conversations.
Practical Application
It’s important to me that you have the opportunity to work through real-life case studies and complete assignments that help you consolidate what you’ve learned.
The goal is for you to feel confident in applying these skills immediately in your practice—delivering successful outcomes for your patients.
Practical Tools and Resources
Tackling TMJD offers a collection of ready-to-use patient care resources to support effective patient education.
You’ll also receive a curated list of trusted Canadian and American resources and suppliers, saving you time on sourcing the right materials for your practice.
I realized that my Massage Therapy Program only covered TMJ for a few days. When I spoke with other clinicians, I found that their training was also just as limited.
Heck, some clinicians weren’t even taught how to perform intraoral massage!
Needless to say, the education we were receiving about the Temporomandibular Joint was minimal. We weren’t taught about the role of tongue posture, dysfunctional breathing, or swallowing patterns. All factors that can significantly contribute to TMJ Dysfunction.
This lack of education led to the creation of the Tackling TMJD Mentorship Program.
It’s time to help clinicians feel confident in assessing and treating TMJ Dysfunction.
Over the course of 12 weeks, we will cover :
